Tips to Teach Your Child Good Hand Hygiene

Hand-washing is the most effective and easiest way to help your child prevent getting sick. It is also the best of all the ways to prevent spreading germs. By washing your hands thoroughly, you would reduce the time being spent at the doctor’s clinic.

So, the main question here isn’t whether it is worthwhile teaching your kids correct hand-washing techniques, or not. Instead, the question here is regarding what are the most optimal practices for hand hygiene. The teachers at the preschools in Dubai offer four key steps for hand hygiene, which are as follows:
  • Have your kid wet his/her hands with clean and running water. Doctors suggest that both warm and cold water are effective enough, but one should avoid using too hot water.
  • Lather the hands with water and soap for at least 20 seconds.
  • Explain to your child how it is important to get the whole hand clean, including the backs and the fronts of the hands, plus in-between fingers, wrists, and even beneath the fingernails.
  • Tell your kid to rinse their hands well and dry their hands using a clean towel.
Hand washing is an easy, effective and cheap way for preventing spreading germs and keeping kids as well as adults healthy, suggests the caregivers at the nursery schools in Dubai. When the whole family is healthy, parents would need to be worried about missing work, school, or any other activity. You would also save yourself the cost and time of visiting a doctor, most of the time.
